What is Happening with the Camping Ministry of
the Minnesota Annual Conference?
It is at a time such as this that all those who have been touched by the ministry of the Minnesota UMC camps over the past many years need to keep a bigger picture at heart. All of our sites will see changes over the next several years.
Passionate discussion has been shared at countless meetings as to which camp is "the best", "the most valuable", "has the most potential" or "would be the best place for camp". In taking stands here or there about where to make changes, sometimes we forget the important basic principle that makes camp such an important event in someone's life.
Camp is about how God has met you in a place and given you the gift of others to share your journey. Yes, the site is important, but remember that it is the experiences with your God and the people who surrounded you during those times that is what made it special. Those are what memories are made of that will last a lifetime.

Look for your special camp to be offered at one of our other awesome sites next summer. L.Y.F.E. Camps, Summer Sizzler for Jesus, Christian Friendship, Horse Camp, Wet & Wild, Xtreme Adventure and Grandparent Camp will all find new home campsites for the coming year. Camp will continue to happen, whether at DHC or anywhere in this amazing world of ours!
